The Mid-Atlantic Primitive Skills (MAPS) Group 2nd Annual Summer Gathering - Knap-in will be 25-26 July at Guy Neal's homestead.  Although the focus of this gathering will be Flint Knapping, there will be other activities.

One of the planned activities is to construct a traditional Bark Lodge. Guy has all the material right there on the property. He is preparing the bark slabs this spring and those participating will cut and prepare the cedar poles.

Even if you are not proficient yet, it is "OK" to share it with the group. We are dependent on you, MAPS members, sharing your skills to make these outings a success.

There will be a 50/50 Raffle to support the Summer Gathering Knap-in Host.

A 50-50 raffle simply involves the sale of raffle tickets with the proceeds being split evenly between the winner and MAPS Group.

Raffle tickets sell for $1 a piece, 3 tickets for $2, or  5 tickets for $4.  

The 'take' will be tallied and one-half awarded to the holder of the lucky number drawn near the end of the event on Sunday.  The lucky number holder must be present to win.  If not claimed within two minutes, a second number is drawn, continuing until the prize is awarded.

For example, after tickets are tallied there is found $100 in raffle sales. $50 will go to the lucky winner and $50 to MAPS Group.

Note: The site has a pond for cooling off from the mid-summer heat.
